Skyline Theatre 

Ann Arbor Skyline High School Theatre, under the direction of Anne-Marie Roberts, has been selected to perform in The Edinburgh Fringe Festival—the largest and most prestigious arts festival in the world, as part of the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) held in the summer of 2018.

Each August, Edinburgh, Scotland becomes one of the most magical and exciting places on earth as performing artists from all over the world come to Scotland to take part in the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The whole city becomes a stage and visitors can view performances at playgrounds, conference rooms, city parks and churches – virtually any site that can accommodate a group. The Fringe Festival includes over 3,500 different performances of music, theater, dance, and comedy during its nearly two-month run.

Skyline High School, recognized for its entertaining, innovative, and award-winning productions, was selected by the AHSTF Board of Advisors to represent the United States and Canada as part of the 2018 AHSTF program. The Board reviews all completed applications and identifies the top performing arts high schools in the United States and Canada based on their most recent bodies of work, awards, community involvement, philosophies, and recommendations by their Board of Directors—which includes top-notch university professors from Southern Methodist University, Ball State University, the University of Cincinnati, and John Abbot College in Quebec, Canada.

More than 2500 high school theatre programs were nominated this year representing all 50 states and nearly every province of Canada. Skyline High School Theatre was nominated by the board at AHSTF for their continued excellence in high school theatre.  Once nominated, the school's director completes several short essays and submits other evidence of achievements. Only forty schools were selected this year to attend the 2018 Fringe Festival in Scotland.
